Hungerford Bowls Club have now played all of their league matches and came top in the Ashley Baker Wednesday mixed league with 139 points. The club played against 9 teams, one match at home then one away, so 18 games in total so winning the league was a very pleasing result.
The club played St Mary Bourne Bowls Club for the R&J Broad Trophy and won by 10 shots. The photo above shows our Captain, Derek Barton, receiving the trophy from St Mary Bourne’s Captain.
The men played against Newbury for the Godwin Cup over 2 legs, one at home and one away, and they won by 3 shots – another great result!
Finally the club played Kintbury, over 2 legs, for the Mick Gainey Shield and won by an amazing 37 shots so another trophy to be displayed in the clubhouse. The photo below shows Derek Barton receiving the trophy from Kintbury.
